The Virginia Tech Human Agriculture Bioscience Building has had its challenges and opportunities. One ongoing challenge has been the equipment penthouse.
This area has seen a design change and delays in the steel. In order to keep this project on schedule the mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams installed there systems without the structure in place. As you can see in the pictures the sheet metal mechanics, electricians, and plumbers turned carpenters by constructing frames to support duct, pipe and conduit. Not only did these frames support the systems they also withstood the mini “El Deracho” storm that took place on June 13, 2013. Just another example of the employee owners of G.J. Hopkins stepping up to do what it takes to meet the client’s needs.
